Will Colegrove is a Principal, overseeing research to help build a portfolio of innovative companies for Ekistic Ventures.
Before moving to Chicago in 2016, Will held a number of roles in New York City government, most recently in the Office of the Manhattan Borough President, where he served as Senior Technology Advisor. He focused on technology policy issues such as the expansion of municipal broadband, government transparency, and open data initiatives. Prior to that he served as Director of Budget & Transparency for the Borough President, managing millions of dollars in expense and capital allocations, as well as local recommendations for New York City's $75 billion budget.
He previously served as Director of Legislation & Budget for a New York City Council Member, acting as liaison to the Government Operations Committee, managing local discretionary budget allocations, and passing laws such as New York City's Open Data and Paid Sick Leave legislation. He got his start in government working for the New York State legislature, managing campaigns and serving as campaign treasurer for a local Assemblymember.
Will earned his MPA in Urban Policy and Management from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and his BA in Political Science from Fordham University.
